Just heard from a couple of very reliable sources that Bob Graf took his final lap today...



The sport is now missing a lot of knowledge and a ton of history. This saddens me greatly, Bob had absolutely no tact nor any people skills for those outside of his 'circle' ( pun intended) but I loved him dearly for everything that he brought to GN racing and performance in general.

How much more RPM would you gain, roughly, when changing from 37's to say 25's? Looking to pick up about 6-700 rpms in my deal. Let's just speak theoretically and if nothing else is changed.

21 Daytona minus motor

82 Daytona ,original gel 8 out of 10 ( transom has been painted ) clean interior 8 out of 10( new carpet and side panels last year, seats are 2yrs old) set up for bbc, rail kit. Ss 24gal tanks, set back pump with pump supports, all black braided lines and an fittings. all mounts and tanks are powder coated this year. Pump is fully built, mag bronze A/B impeller, droop, hyd place diverter( all painted candy red) ride plate, shoe. Dual optima batteries with billet mounts! Thru transom headers. Way too much to remember!



Trailer has good tires but the paint is faded a little.



Boat ran low 80's with a mild 468, and over 100 with the 565 I just pulled out.

Yesterday at the circle boat races at the Blue Water Casino I ran into a number of board members that I had not previously met in person. Great folks are found in this boating community for sure but I learned that they are also well informed. No less than a half dozen members admitted to visiting this political rhetoric forum often without ever posting here and without exception, every one of them applauded me (and the other conservatives) for standing up for conservative values and speaking out against the garbage democrats are dragging our nation through these days. The general theme of these discussions ended with something like "Keep it up! We may just take this country back yet" or "I love your posts!"



I found these conversations rather refreshing. :wink2::wink2:

Just wanted to give thanks on this thanksgiving weekend to all those who helped make this weekend possible for us! Brent, Phil, Gritch, Clyde for help/advice in the pits, the crew Troy, Kevin and Christian that worked tirelessly all week, Mark Lopresi who came to our rescue when we broke the throttle cable and especially Jim Newton for getting the boat together and getting me back on the water! SCSC put on a flawless event. I've still got a grin from ear to ear that isn't likely to go away for awhile!

Hello all i was givin a jetboat I've been trying to look this thing up but no such luck so far. What I've gathered so far is it is a 1973 marada powerboats hull bein the hin starts with CMM and the badges on the boat says Cobrajet18 it has a 455 olds with a Jacuzzi. yj jet . ill post pics asap

Need v-drive oil pan advice

Ok, so just dropped my boat in the water for a test run after a new motor build and observed some strange oil pressure behavior. I think I have it narrowed down to the oil pan, so cut to the chase, what are the best oil pan options for a v-drive for a bbc?



i used a summit G3607 pan for my build, which is an 11 quart marine pan. When the motor runs on the stand everything checks out good. When I run rev in the boat out I. The water, everything is good. When I am under power though, my oil pressure drops from 75 down to about 5. Obviously I kill the throttle at this point and the pressure jumps back up to 75. I put on a mechanical gauge, so I know this is actual behavior.



My dipstick did did not show all the way to the 'full' so I added another 2 quarts (13 total now), and the oil pressure on the throttle only dropped from 75 to 15, but I noticed this was only happening when the boat was coming up on plane. If I gingered the throttle and held the nose down while accelerating once I was on plane the oil pressure was steady at 75.



My my best guess is that my pan is set up for a sears drive with the trap doors pointing the wrong way! I never saw this kind of problem with my old auto-motive style 5 quart pan, and I thought I was over-building with a 11 quart pan. Go figure.



I'm tire of fucking around, so suggestions are welcome on what I should go with.... Want to make NYE at Camp Far West this year!

I recently sold a 396 block with a set of heads, pan etc. Customer called me and said 3 pistons where damaged upon inspection of engine in my driveway while I was at work. I said make me an offer which he offered half my price of $200.Paying $100 for short block, heads, pan, etc. Customer blows up my phone stating it has a cracked cylinder. OK, I didn't know. I simply said he can return it and I'll refund him. Nope he wants a sleeve job done.

Nope return it and I'll refund you. I'm not paying for repairs that could blow out of control.

So he promised to blow this up....

I just want to say that I offered a refund upon return of defective product.

The Enderle Bird catcher was set up by Enderle for Alcohol on a Blower, has dyno time only on it. I also have a polished tunnel ram manifold (Big Block Chevy) for it, but I am sure it would need to be re jetted for a non blown application.

Pump is and Enderle 110 pump and they just went through it as well. I have two different drives, one is for snout drive by belt, one is for belt drive off the flywheel end, or could also be cam driven. $2,200.00

I have a 496 mag with a whipple kit that broke a rod and took out the long block. No surpise there...lol the 496 is a good engine stock, the whipple kit is EXCELLENT but the combo is a POS. ANYWAY...Since I need a blower capable longblock I was wondering what to do? Gen 7 build with expensive Raylar parts or can I build a normal BBC and reuse most of the Marinization, electrical systems, and Whipple parts from this engine. I don't think I'm interested in selling the whipple parts unless the buyer already has a forged 496 8.1 Gen 7.

I wanted to clear up a few black and white questions and answers. The things I state are facts. They are not downloaded from some media website, not propaganda, just observations from a 83 year old black man, born in America:

"I was told by my parents (yes, a married man and woman with my last name), that I was n*****. We lived in “N***** Town” in a small Texas town, no A/C, grass growing through the floor, no car, no TV. We washed our bodies with lye soap that my mother made, by hand. I thought I was a n*****, until I graduated high school, went to college, did an enlistment in the Army, and got a job. I am now retired, own my own home, have 6 children by ONE WOMAN, and we all have the same last name. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts, a Master’s Degree in Sociology. My retirement, VA disability from combat in the Korean War (I only have one leg), and part-time pay in a local college, is about $125,000 a year. From dirt poor n*****, to old, black, proud American.

Yes, I am black, and I can say “n*****”, because I understand the true meaning of the word.

Let’s clear up a few things about the Michael Brown incident.

-Fact: It is not called "shoplifting or stealing", it's called "robbery", which is a felony. Brown stole something and assaulted someone, that means ROBBERY. It’s on video, and it’s a fact. Not shoplifting, not theft, not “lifting” a few cigars, but ROBBERY!

-Michael Brown, like Trayvon, was portrayed by the media as a “little black boy”, cute little headphones, and his cap and gown photo, gunned down by a ruthless police assassin, executed by “whitey”. First, I have never seen a cop drag a person into their car’s driver door to arrest them. So, let us be clear, Michael Brown was a n*****; a sorry assed, criminal, hoodlum, n*****. Nobody wants to say that, but I will. He had a criminal record a mile long, was known for numerous assaults, robberies, including the one you saw with your own eyes, and still refuse to call it a robbery. He was, like so many others, living a life that he thought he was “entitled” to, just for being alive. Gangsta rap, weed, drinking, guns, and those stupid-assed low profile rims, makes him some kind of bad-ass n*****.

-I have fought communist Chinese and North Korean soldiers in the 1950’s with more honor than that n*****. Yep, I peeled potatoes and shot communists. That’s the only job a n***** soldier could get.

Rodney King? Black Riots!

Trayvon? Black Riots!

-Hurricane Katrina? Black Riots! Stealing TV’s, designer clothes, etc.

-O.J. Simpson kills white man and white woman, found NOT GUILTY? Did white folks riot? Nope!

-In fact, when is the last time white people rioted? Civil War, maybe? That’s because they are, relatively, civilized people, much like many black Americans. Protesting is one thing, hell, I’m all for it. Even if you are an ignorant idiot, you have a right to protest.

-Stop only showing the young black "cap and gown" photos of Michael. Charles Manson may have a few of those laying around, as well. Show the n***** "gangsta" photos of the "poor unarmed teenager" (grown man) pics that have been removed from his Facebook page, holding the loaded pistol, smoking weed, with a mouthful of money.

-Militarization? The stupid-assed media that publicizes this has no idea what “militarization” really is. Cops wear helmets and vests, and drive armored vehicle because unemployed n*****s thrown bricks at them, moron! You put on an "Adam 12" uniform and walk down the streets of Ferguson during the criminal riots. I can guarantee that you'll jump into the first armored "military tank" that you see.

-You only "want the police" when you "need the police", otherwise, you mock and fear what you do not understand about the police. And by the way, the police are trained to take your shit, but I wouldn’t fuck around with those Army National Guard, they aren’t as well disciplined “culturally” to take your shit like police do every day. They will ventilate your black asses with M-16s, with military precision and extreme prejudice.

-And finally, the way we protest and demand justice, is run down the streets breaking shit, looting stores, and acting like a bunch of untrained monkeys? Hell, after Rodney King, criminal n*****s were actually killing people, thinking they were entitled to be worse criminals than they already were. For those black criminals that do that, you are a disgrace to your race, inflamed by idiots like Al Sharpton, instead of listening to logic from proud black Americans, like Bill Cosby, Samuel Jackson, Colin Powell, Allen West, me, etc.

-You blame white people for your ignorance, criminal acts, unemployed laziness, etc.

-You blame white people for 89% of the prisons in America being full of blacks. They did nothing wrong, the racists white cops framed them all, right? No chance at school, no chance for college, military, employment?

BULL SHIT!

-More n*****s kill n*****s, than n*****s killing whites, whites killing n*****s, and whites killing whites….COMBINED. I find this astounding.

-It's not white peoples' faults, the Emancipation Proclamation was signed by a white man years ago. You can go to school, get a job, buy a house, and vote, JUST LIKE WHITE FOLKS!!!! You are not a slave, you are not discriminated against! Slavery is abolished, and nobody alive today, was alive when it was popular. Get over it! You are discriminated against because you are a criminal, sorry-assed n*****. Otherwise, black Americans are treated like everyone else.

-If you choose to create "baby daddy and baby mama", and fake disabilities as an excuse for laziness to draw social security disability…… instead of husband, wife, family, job, mortgage, it's YOUR FAULT, not white folks. And there are a lot of proud black Americans that will tell you the same, as I AM ONE OF THEM!!!

-Remember, the way you act on the camera, is remembered by everyone who sees it. They will never forget it. It shows them how you, as the black race, respond to situations that don’t particularly go the way you think they should. It will become a reference standard, something they expect from you when the next media report doesn’t go your way. Stop being stupid n*****s, and be a proud black American. My parents raised me well, but they were wrong about one thing, I am not a n*****.

I will not be around long. While my mind is still sharp, and my aim is still good, my body is eating away with cancer. It started in the prostate, and is spreading rapidly. After I die, I have asked my children to publish my writings, and include my name. Although I am not expecting any miracles, I can only hope that Americans will stop blaming color, start blaming criminals, and see people for what the y really are. We have too many countries that want us dead. We should not be fighting each other.

Last weekend was a bust with strong winds and rain not to worry the hubby is off Monday and Tuesday we thought surely will boat one of those days…uh no again weather interruptions. I set out committed to blogging fifty-two weeks this year so this may not be the most informative but it’s what’s on our minds. When we don’t get to go boating it’s kinda a bummer for us so in this season of thankfulness we’ve done a little reflecting. We are blessed people we all have jobs, a modest but comfortable home, we’ve enjoyed good health this year and we have the opportunity and means to do a hobby we love boating. Then it hit us what if we decided to pay it forward even if it was just once a sort of Thanksgiving tradition to take the funds we would have spent for a weekends boating pleasure and give it away. It could be in the form of cash to a needy stranger or person you know. Another option could be a donation to your favorite charity or church fund. We have chosen to add to our purchase for the ‘Toys for Tots Tour “we are participating in December 5th and 6th. If you haven’t ever done a boating charity event you might want to join us. [Question] Bravo X drive

Looking at a used 2005 21ft 496, 375hp with 44hrs. It is equipped with a Bravo X. Not interested in going 70mph, just weekend cruising at Powell. What is the expected life of a Bravo X? Would I be better off with the Bravo 1?

Oil pump/pressure

I added spring oilers last winter and lost about 15 psi of pressure (about 55psi@WOT) and drops to 18psi after a run climbs back up after a bit



The spring oil orifices are .040 x 16 so the pressure is going top drop but perhaps the volume is still there?



I`m not sure what is in there now , I was thinking high pressure high volume, Melling recommended 10778.

Not sure if thats something I should be concerned about.

I am using a GM HEI distributor on a stock Hardin 454.

Do i need to eliminate the vac advance canister and lock it out, or is capping the canister sufficient.

if removing the canister and using a lock out plate, do i need to do any thing with the weights and springs?

Hello, thanks in advance for taking time to read and reply. I recently found a 22' super hawk for sale. Its book value is far less than its resale value as far as I have been able to determine. Why is that? So the boat is absolutely gorgeous and I believe it to be super low hrs based on its showing in pictures. Its a 95 openbow, original owner, who has added an aftermarket tower and sound system. It was listed originally for 20k but has been reduced to 17.5K I just found this today, im shopping, and if its available I am scheduling an opportunity to give it a looksee and get it on the water. Any input either way would bemore than helpful

1965 corvette SBC turbo project....

I know its not a boat but....



I need the power curve of a BBC out of my numbers matching small block. I have rear gears that came in a 69 BB vette so that it will cruise on the freeway. I was thinking of building a stroker 383 with a hidden rear mounted single turbo blow thru carb so that it still looks pretty stock under the hood. I also want to use the stock ram style exhaust manifolds if possible. I am limited on hood space even with the (1967 427 hood.) This is a sidepipe car so I will probably exit the exhaust under the car and keep the side pipe tips for looks only. Max HP is not the goal....BBC torque curve with good manners is the goal.



Since you guys are performance junkies I would like to hear your feedback on the parts to make this happen. How would you do it?

Bubbles in resin

I am in the process of doing balsa floors in my boat. I am having a major problem with air bubbles showing up in my resin, they only seem to show up in my top coat over my cloth. They seem to show up while it's curing, I am using west systems 105/207 resin and hardener combo. My garage is kept at 70 while doing fiberglass work, I have never ran into this before. Please help!

I want to get some red anodizing done in the Bay Area. I used to go to PK Select when Arnold was there and got good results. Then when Arnold opened his own place I got some stuff done and it faded really fast. (1 year) So where is the go to place now days? Is there any ill effects of getting the parts re-anodized?

1978 18' Centurion bubble deck jet

Selling a 1978 18' Centurion jet drive. Hull is similar to a Hondo. Berkeley 12jc split bowl, shoe, ride plate and open center loader(I also have closed loader that will go with). Currently has aluminum A impeller. Berk droop, manual place diverter.



Motor is a std. bore & stroke big block chevy 454. Scat crank and rods, forged pistons, closed chamber oval port iron heads. Solid cam, Milodon roller rockers. Single 4150 edelbrock air gap and 1000cfm mechanical secondary Race Demon fed by Carter 110gph electric pump. Vertex magneto with ETC rev limiter. 4pt. aluminum mounts with driveshaft cover.



Interior was done 6 years ago and starting to get stiff, but still in good condition. Carpet is a few years old as well but still looks good. Has two aluminum gunnel tanks with flip top caps. Header water control valve up front next to place diverter manual control handle and fwd/rev lever.



Boat sits on a nice 2 axle trailer with Cragar wheels, 2 year old tires in great shape, LED lights. Bunks are a few years old but still good condition.



I have a few extras to go with... Full rail kit from Jet boat performance. Plates, flywheel cover, rails, blocks, hardware. Some spare small parts and hardware, extra loader grate, paddles, ski flag, etc. Very reliable boat, runs mid 70s with this setup. Had a different engine and pump setup in it and ran much faster, boat is very stable and a blast to drive. Clean AZ title and current AZ registration. Asking $7500, call or text 602-622-5641. My Split Deck Mandella aka The Ugly Duckling

I ended up with this 21' Mandella after some horse trading (no horses involved). It had some interesting history and some real nice hardware in her. Also came with a 1968 435hp aluminum headed 427ci motor. It was supposed to be a turnkey boat, if there is such a thing. Needless to say there were issues that I failed to pick up on. Totally my fault for not doing better due diligence. Motor had a blown head gasket, so I pulled the heads and several of the head studs pulled out. It had sat for a long time with water in it and the studs rusted. Turns out a fella restoring an old Corvette race car wanted this motor more than I did and even in its current shape so he bought it. It netted me enough money to buy another motor. I found a nicely built 468 that was in a friends Sanger jet. It was freshened up and was pretty much ready to go. I had to make some changes along the way but shes coming together real nice. I'm currently running some OT exhaust but plan on getting some jacket tube headers soon.



I want to say thank you to RaceRick for all his help, knowledge, and patience he's provided me, I wouldn't be this far along without him. He's also introduced me to some exceptionally cool people, Leadfoot Wayne, Redjet Mike, and Ryan and his dad.

This A-Frame is one I built about 35 years ago. Pulled many engines with it, big blocks are no problem. It is constructed out of 2" square steel, 1/4" wall. Comes with a 1 ton chain fall which is not pictured. It comes apart so it portable, sides separate from the top beam so can lay it down in a truck or for storage.
