BMC Fun Poker Run = Fun 11/19/2014 0 Comments Every now and then duty calls I’m talking about the mommy duties so this past weekend I was wrapped up in errands, laundry and appointments but the hubby made plans to get out to an event on the Harris chains. Recently we attended the Central Florida Boat Show and met some nice folks from BMC boats. BMC is a local boat retailer and they plan events for their customers to show them around different boating locations and to promote enjoyable boating. This weekend BMC hosted a fun poker run and the hubby tagged along with a friend. The event started at the Lake Dora boat ramp and the course had stops at restaurants along the lakes. The first stop was way over at Hickory Point Park, then Boondocks, Hurricane’s, a floating stop at the Dora Canal and ended up at Lake Dora Marina. The event was well done and prizes were awarded the first place hand, the second best hand and the worst hand. There was a drawing for a 7-day cruise for two. Everybody walked away with a little something and a great time was had by all. One of my hubby’s friends did have a little engine trouble and needed a tow back to ramp but that didn’t put a damper on the day they still enjoyed a nice lunch and a fun day on the lake. It’s always nice to meet new boaters and enjoy a great time at a nice event. I’m sorry I missed it but it’s good for the hubby to spend some time out with friends doing what he loves. This weekend we’re expecting 80 degree temps and that’s calling my name the dishes and laundry will have to take a backseat.
