Instead of the standard 316 U bolts on the back of a transom I wanted to do something different.
I'd like to do true lifting rings. I would think that they would be somewhat like a flat stock piece that then transitions to an eye of some sort. This way, in combination with a lifting ring on the forward deck (a different design) you can use a crane or backhoe with cable to lift the boat off the trailer without a canvas sling hassle. I don't know if there are any companies that offer these "lifting straps with rings" right out of the box. I'm seeing 3 bolts through the transom securing the flat stock portion, and then a bend away from the boat a bit to clear the rub rail from any rash the cable would do. They could then also serve as tie-downs for the trailer.
Anyone know were I could look for two of these as OEM SS pieces? I understand they will be pricey but I only need two of them. Thanks.
