My dad never had braces on the mid plate (12 degree casale), so I picked some up and was going to mount them, then I was going through some pics on here and noticed some people have the braces mounted forward of the v-drive? (running from mid plate towards the dash of the boat) , so question is which direction are they suppose to be mounted or does it matter? , I was going to mount them from mid plate to stringers running towards the stern, or back of the boat, does this matter or is this basically which ever way you have room type of deal?, my dad said he ran it without braces the entire time he had the boat with no problems so im not even sure if I need them?, running a 30 over 454, nothing special or crazy....
