I just witnessed athletic historical perfection. Love him or not, Derek Jeter has been the face of the Yankees for a very long time. Simply nicknamed "The Captain" his last at bat in Yankee stadium ever was a script that couldn't have been better written in a book. His signature opposite-field base hit becomes the game-winning walk-off finale of his fantastic Yankees career in his home stadium, in front of the home fans.
One more moment in time that I'll never forget watching -- like Reggie Jackson taking three pitches for three homers in a World Series game or watching Henry Aaron surpass Babe Ruth's home run number or watching the US Olympic hockey team beat Russia. Some things I'll never forget and this is another one for the ages.
Thanks for the memories Derek Jeter!

The perfect script! Not written but witnessed live!!!
