What a sweet day we enjoyed on the water this Sunday. The sky was blue and beautiful the water glistened like diamonds there’s just something about this time of year and boating. The humidity is lower and trolling through the Dora canal was shady and cool, not a drop of sweat, heavenly. I have to say the Fall is the best time to get out and boat in Florida.
This was a special day our boys tenth birthday and we let him pick the activity he chose boating on the Harris chains and lunch at Crazy Gators. Our daughter Bree had just returned after a seven week vacation with her Mom it was wonderful to have the whole family boating together again. Joe enjoyed practicing a little more driving the boat soon he’ll be a pro. It was great day as a family celebrating and doing what we love.
The lakes were not too crowded which baffles me a little once October comes the boat traffic seems to slow down. It’s just crazy! This is the best time to get on out there and enjoy sunny days and cooler temps. Don’t put your boats away just yet get on out there and enjoy our beautiful weather and all the fun holiday events. The towns of Mount Dora, Eustis and Tavares offer many festivals, boat races, craft shows and holiday boating parades. If you’ve never checked them out you’re missing out. Mount Dora and Eustis have Christmas parades on the water for boaters to participate. We’ve done it a couple of times and its lots of fun and definitely gets you in the holiday spirit.
Don’t get yourself landlocked for you next adventure in boating consider boating your way in to the holiday season you may even discover some new holiday traditions.
