Anyone know about the inverted boat at the mouth of the river (AZ side) between 1400 and 1500 Sunday? We were coming back from Topock and saw Vessel-Assist with it, two airbags at rear holding it up.
I ended up in the Emergency Room shortly after - nothing major - just punctured my leg (calf area) on a screw sticking out of the dock at Topock. Pretty good sized hole, so we just went to ER to get some antibiotics. No stiches. Anyway, as we were exiting the mouth of the river on the CA side, I noticed the bottom of a boat floating over on the AZ side. THEN, as I was in ER, a couple of the girls that were thrown from the boat were in the room next to me. Couldn't hear exactly what happened, except she was telling the Dr., "I don't really know, we were traveling along and then it got REALLY SHALLOW" (duh).
It LOOKED like maybe a 26-28-foot cat of some sort. Bottom was all-white, no color, couldn't see the top section. Only thing for certain is the color, as we were at about 60 and probably 500-600 feet west of it.
Anyone know the people involved? Everyone live? The girl we saw was pretty banged up. Side of her face had abrasions and bruising. A bit of a limp and they were x-raying her torso as I heard the Dr. say he was worried about the bruising in that area for possible bleeding. She also said she was very nauseous - so probably shock combined with some brain inflammation. Possible closed head wound. She was walking around on her own power, though.
