Swim Step

I am wanting to put a swim step on my boat. I like the looks of the teak steps but not the price. A friend has a mold for a fiberglass step but it got a little warped from sitting outside. I have never really worked with gel coat and I'm not really sure what the cost of materials would be.



So, should I look for a used step, or should I attempt to get the mold straight and make a fiberglass step?
