When is the most segregated time in America?
Well, here in Alabama....that would be 11:00 AM each and every Sunday morning.
With no Government intervention, no outside forces coming into play, whites congregate at their churches and the blacks congregate in theirs.
Why is this? Could it be that when left up to the individual people to decide on their own accord, whites would rather congregate with their own race as well as blacks doing the same? It appears the observations of Sunday mornings ring true and tells a "dirty little story" about human behavior.
Could it be that the government's intervention of forcing desegregation simply goes against our nature. Is the government attempting to force us to act in a manner that is unnatural to human behavior? Could it be this is one of the reasons why racial tensions are so high?
As a younger man when desegregation was first implemented here in the South, I was and remain of the opinion that government has the power to force blacks and whites to go to school together and share the work place together.....but the one thing the government can not do...... force us to like each other and make us desire each others company. Granted, most of us have "some" black friends, and blacks have their few white friends... but, are these really true friends, or simply acquaintances? .... be honest with yourself.
Point being: Government can not legislate human behavior...... Racial, sexual, gender acceptance, marriage, etc..... IMHO, these things should be left to evolve on their own as time as human nature allows...
Please understand, this is not an attempt to stir racial outrage..... and I realize the "shallow minded" will call me a racist....But, I am simply commenting on my observations of Sunday mornings...
